BlackVue ELITE 10 Dash Cam Installation Options:

Cigarette Lighter Adapter (included): Easiest method, no technical expertise required. Just plug the cigarette lighter adapter into your vehicle cigarette lighter socket. Only powers the dash cam while the car is on, so no Parking Mode features are available with this method.

USB-C Power Cable (included): The ELITE 10 includes a USB-C PD 3.0 power cable, making it suitable for many newer vehicles that support USB-C power connections. This provides a neat and modern installation option for day-to-day driving use.

OBD-II Power Cable (optional extra): Simple DIY plug-and-play solution into your vehicle’s OBD-II port for constant power and Parking Mode support. Easier than hardwiring and suitable for many vehicles, although not all models are compatible.

Hardwiring Kit (included): Most permanent solution and ideal for enabling full Parking Mode functionality. Requires installation into the vehicle fuse box and is best suited to users familiar with vehicle electrical systems or those using a professional installer.

Battery Pack (optional extra): Ideal for users wanting extended Parking Mode protection without relying directly on the vehicle battery. The ELITE 10 is compatible with the BlackVue Ultra Battery range and can provide weeks or even months of standby protection depending on the setup used.

After you have successfully connected the right power cable, the only thing left to do is mount the dash cam to the windscreen and hide the cables through your vehicle’s trim and seal strips. You can use the supplied cable clips to help.

1. Most third party Micro SD cards are not recommended for use in BlackVue Dash Cams due to performance issues. BlackVue only recommends use of genuine and compatible BlackVue Micro SD cards. Non-approved Micro SD cards can adversely affect a BlackVue Dash Cam’s performance.

2. We recommend the hardwire cable is installed into the fuse box by a qualified auto electrician.

The battery: BlackVue B-130A Ultra in detail

The BlackVue B-130A Battery Pack is a high capacity system designed to offer the longest parking mode recording times.

The system works by charging a high quality lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery through either your cig lighter socket or fusebox while your car is running. When your car is turned off, the charged B-130A battery is then used to provide continuous power to your BlackVue Dash Cam without the need to draw any power from your car battery.

Charging the B-130A via the fusebox is faster (50 min charge time), but if you don’t want to hardwire anything into the fusebox, it can be charged it up via your cig lighter socket (90 min charge time).

The BlackVue B-130A battery is compatible in both 12V and 24V vehicle systems.

It also has a 5V USB port so you can connect other devices and charge them up (eg. smartphone, tablet)

The battery charge level can also be checked via the free BlackVue battery bluetooth app.

Notes:

1. If hardwiring, it is highly recommended hardwiring is performed by a qualified electrician and a suitable circuit that loses power when the engine is OFF must be used. If a continuous circuit is used, the B-130A will continue to charge while the engine is OFF and could deplete your car battery requiring a jump start.

2. For seamless park mode activation and deactivation, the Dash Cam hardwire cable should be connected to the BlackVue B-130A Battery Pack output hardwire cable.
