The BlackVue DR770X-2CH II Dash Cam is the latest 4th generation Dash Cam in the BlackVue 700 series.

The main change brought by the DR770X-2CH II Series is tweaked video quality via an updated processor (CPU) and image processing software. The DR770X Dash Cam produces crisper Full HD videos than its predecessors.

BlackVue has also moved away from a proximity sensor to manually trigger event recordings. The BlackVue DR770X-2CH II now has a tactile touch sensor to manually trigger an event recording.

The notable features of the BlackVue DR770X-2CH Dash Cam include:

1. Dual 1080P FULL HD resolution + dual 2.1 MP Sony Starvis sensors. Both front and rear cameras of the DR770X-2CH Dash Cam incorporate the Sony Starvis sensor for exceptional Full HD video quality, especially under low light conditions. Further more, the 60FPS recording on the front camera offers smoother and cleaner video quality with reduced motion blur.

2. BlackVue include customisable video quality options so you can boost the Full HD video quality even further. “Extreme” recording mode option bumps the front camera bit rate up to 25 Mbps. This further improves the video quality by sharpening details and reducing video “noise”.

3. Cloud compatibility via the BlackVue CM100LTE 4G external module (optional add-on) for those customers wanting to use the BlackVue “Over The Cloud” feature. The cloud feature allows users to tap into the camera while away from it and also receive notifications while parked. The CM100LTE is an external 4G LTE module that plugs directly into the DR770X-2CH allowing the BlackVue cloud feature to be used. All that is required is a nano sim card (BYO) and once the camera has power, so does the CM100LTE module, making the need for an external Wi-Fi hotspot redundant. If the BlackVue cloud connectivity is not required, there is no requirement for this module. All other features and functions of the DR770X-2CH are operational without this module.

4. Pre-buffered parking mode recording which captures the 5 second lead up to the triggering event (motion or impact triggers). The BlackVue DR770X-2CH has internal voltage monitoring that will shut the camera down once the set cut off voltage has been reached (parking mode requires installation of the included hardwire cable into the fusebox).

5. The characteristic BlackVue Dash Cam design is clean and minimal which blends into all car interiors while adding an element of prestige and quality.

6. Large 1TB compatible Micro SD card capacity to hold up to 148 hours of total video files at default settings.

BlackVue DR770X-2CH Dash Cam Installation Options:

1. Cigarette Lighter Adapter (included): Easiest method, no technical expertise required. Just plug the cigarette lighter adapter into your vehicle Cigarette lighter socket. Only powers dash cam while car is on, no parking mode features.
2. Blackvue USB-C Power Cable (included): Many new cars have replaced the cigarette lighter socket with a USB-C connection. This makes for a smaller, sleeker connection. This method is basically the same as the cigarette lighter adapter method.
3. Blackvue OBD-II Power Cable (optional extra): Simple, DIY, Plug and Play into your vehicle’s OBDii port for constant power to allow for parking mode. Easier than hardwiring. No need for costly professional installation. Not compatible with all vehicles such as Teslas and some EV’s.
4. Hardwiring kit (included): Most permanent solution, offers parking mode features. Most difficult option, requires familiarity with car electrical systems. Expect to pay between $200-$400 for professional installation. 
5. Battery Pack (optional extra): Simple, DIY, Plug and Play. Good option for those who don’t want to hardwire or have a smaller car battery. The battery charges when the car is on via the cigarette lighter charger and then gives power to the dash cam when the vehicle is off.  Can also be used to charge other devices. External battery can be hidden under passenger seat. 

After you have successfully connected the right power cable, the only thing left to do is mount the dash cam to the windscreen and hide the cables through your vehicles trim and seal strips. You can use the supplied cable clips to help.

*Notes:

1. Most third party Micro SD cards are not recommended for use in Blackvue Dash Cams due to performance issues. BlackVue only recommends use of BlackVue genuine and compatible Micro SD cards. Non approved Micro SD cards can adversely affect a BlackVue Dash Cams performance.

2. We recommend the hardwire cable is installed into the fusebox by a qualified auto electrician.

The battery: Cellink NEO8+S in detail

The Cellink NEO8+S External Battery Pack is a high capacity battery system designed to offer the longest parking mode recording times.

The Cellink NEO8+S battery can provide continuous power for up to 22hrs for a 2-channel Dash Cam and up to 35hrs for a single channel Dash Cam (approx depending on camera brand/model and settings). However, these running times are for continuous, non-stop recording.

Most proper Parking Mode Dash Cams record only when motion is detected so the battery life/recording time is even longer.

The system works by charging a high quality lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery through either your cig lighter socket or fusebox while your car is running. When your car is turned off, the charged NEO8+S battery is then used to provide continuous power to your Dash Cam without the need to draw any power from your car battery.

Charging the Cellink NEO8+S via the fusebox is faster (approx. 50 min charge time), but if you don’t want to hardwire anything into the fusebox, it can be charged it up via your cig lighter socket (approx. 90 min charge time).

The Cellink NEO8+S battery is compatible in 12V vehicle systems only.

The NEO8+S also has a 5V USB port so you can connect other devices and charge them up (eg. smartphone, tablet)

The battery charge level can also be checked via the free Cellink battery bluetooth app.

If you can’t or don’t want to install a Dash Cam hardwire kit to your car’s fuse box, the Cellink NEO8+S is the plug and play solution for powering your Dash Cam during Parking Surveillance Mode recording.

*Not compatible in 24V systems (trucks, commercial vehicles)

Notes:

1. If charging the Cellink NEO8+S through your vehicle cigarette lighter socket, make sure the input power switch is set on FIX

Once the Cellink NEO8+S is connected to the cigarette lighter socket and operating, never turn the switch to ADJ during operation. This may cause functional failures, overheating, or damage to the cables and ignition due to overcurrent.

2. If hardwiring the Cellink NEO8+S into a fusebox, make sure the power switch is set on ADJ

3. Not compatible in 24V systems (trucks, commercial vehicles)

4. If connecting the Cellink NEO8+S to a Lukas, BlackSys, FineVu or BlackVue X series Dash Cam, the Dash Cam hardwire cable must be connected to the 3-wire output cable of the NEO. This allows park mode to activate and deactivate correctly.
