The BlackVue DR970X-2CH PLUS 4G LTE is the ultimate Dash Cam designed and built for using the Blackvue CLOUD. The DR970X-2CH PLUS 4G LTE  still embodies all the dominant features and functionality of the popular DR970X-2CH PLUS Dash Cam, except it allows easier cloud connectivity with an in-built 4G LTE modem and nano-SIM card reader (BYO sim card and plan).

To run the cloud based tracking feature, the standard BlackVue DR970X-2CH PLUS Dash Cam requires the external BlackVue CM100 modem which clicks into the camera and sticks on the windscreen. The DR970X-2CH PLUS 4G LTE Dash Cam however allows direct insertion of a SIM card so while the Dash Cam is powered on, so is cloud connectivity. No need for an external CM100 modem.

The BlackVue DR970X-2CH PLUS 4G LTE delivers 4K UHD front video quality bolstered by the next generation Sony Starvis 2 IMX678 sensor.

Combining Sony’s world-class STARVIS 2 sensor technology and BlackVue’s expert image signal processor (ISP) tuning, the DR970X-2CH PLUS 4G LTE front camera delivers sharper and more detailed videos under challenging lighting conditions.

The BlackVue DR970X-2CH PLUS 4G LTE Dash Cam has been upgraded with a much larger f/1.7 aperture lens allowing more light to reach the sensor for clearer footage. Increased shutter speed also allows the DR970X-2CH PLUS 4G LTE to deliver sharper footage, even on busier roads and highways.

BlackVue have stuck with their characteristic cylindrical/”lipstick” design, however the front Dash Cam is physically larger than the standard DR970X PLUS as it incorporates an in-built 4G modem.

The BlackVue DR970X-2CH PLUS 4G LTE comes with a solid 3-year BlackVue manufacturer camera warranty* and a 12 month warranty on accessories.

The notable features of the DR970X-2CH PLUS 4G LTE Dash Cam include:

1. 4K Ultra HD resolution + f/1.7 lens aperture + 8.4MP next generation Sony Starvis 2.0 sensor in the front camera delivers better video evidence in challenging lighting conditions. Front camera video quality is sharper and clearer while giving you the best opportunity at picking up details from farther away. The 2.1MP rear camera records at 1080P FULL HD and contains the first generation Sony Starvis sensor.

2. BlackVue include customisable video quality options so you can boost the 4K UHD recording quality even further. “Extreme” recording mode options bump the front camera bit rate up to 40-60 Mbps. This further improves the video quality by sharpening details and reducing video “noise”.

3. Easy BlackVue cloud connectivity having inbuilt 4G LTE modem and nano SIM card reader (BYO SIM card with data plan). For those BlackVue customers wanting to use the cloud feature but don’t want to use the BlackVue CM100LTE 4G external module, this is the model to look at. The cloud feature allows users to tap into the camera while away from it and also receive notifications while parked. 4. Pre-buffered parking mode recording which captures the 5 second lead up to the triggering event (motion or impact triggers). The BlackVue DR970X-2CH PLUS 4G LTE has internal voltage monitoring that will shut the camera down once the set cut off voltage has been reached (parking mode requires installation of the included hardwire cable into the fusebox).

5. Large 512GB compatible Micro SD card capacity to hold up to 67 hours of total video files at default settings.

6. A low distortion, wide 146° angle of view on the front camera to capture maximum action around your car.

7. Event File Overwrite Protection. Up to 50 event files can be locked and protected being overwritten by newer files. These protected event files can be either manually triggered files (via tapping the touch sensor), impacts during normal driving mode and impacts during parking mode.

8. Intuitive BlackVue App and BlackVue software player allowing you to stream/watch video files or configure the camera with ease.

BlackVue DR970X-2CH PLUS [4G LTE] Dash Cam Installation Options:

  1. Cigarette Lighter Adapter (included): Easiest method, no technical expertise required. Just plug the cigarette lighter adapter into your vehicle Cigarette lighter socket. Only powers dash cam while car is on, no parking mode features.
  2. Blackvue USB-C Power Cable (optional extra): Many new cars have replaced the cigarette lighter socket with a USB-C connection. This makes for a smaller, sleeker connection. This method is basically the same as the cigarette lighter adapter method.
  3. Blackvue OBD-II Power Cable (optional extra): Simple, DIY, Plug and Play into your vehicle’s OBDii port for constant power to allow for parking mode. Easier than hardwiring. No need for costly professional installation Not compatible with all vehicles such as Teslas and some EV’s.
  4. Hardwiring kit (included): Most permanent solution, offers parking mode features. Most difficult option, requires familiarity with car electrical systems. Expect to pay between $200-$400 for professional installation.
  5. Battery Pack ( optional extra): Simple, DIY, Plug and Play. Good option for those who don’t want to hardwire or have a smaller car battery. The battery charges when the car is on via the cigarette lighter charger and then gives power to the dash cam when the vehicle is off.  Can also be used to charge other devices. External battery can be hidden under passenger seat.

After you have successfully connected the right power cable, the only thing left to do is mount the dash cam to the windscreen and hide the cables through your vehicles trim and seal strips. You can use the supplied cable clips to help..
