Is the U1000 Plus really 4K?
Yes — the front camera uses an 8.46MP Sony STARVIS sensor recording native 4K UHD (3840×2160). You can also switch to 2K QHD at 60fps for smoother motion.
Does it come with everything for parking mode?
Yes. The hardwiring kit is included in the box. You can also use the plug-and-play OBD-II power cable, or add an iVolt battery pack for extended parking protection without using your car battery.
Can I view the camera remotely?
Thinkware Cloud features (live view, vehicle location, impact notifications, geo-fencing) work when the camera has internet via a Wi-Fi hotspot. For built-in 4G connectivity without a hotspot, look at the Thinkware T700.
How is this different from the U3000 range?
The U3000 and U3000 Pro add built-in radar parking surveillance, newer Sony STARVIS 2 sensors and (on the Pro) a 2K rear camera. The U1000 Plus delivers genuine 4K with a full parking suite and full ADAS at a lower price — the value pick for drivers who don’t need radar.
