BlackVue Elite 8 Dash Cam

Introducing the BlackVue Elite 8 dash cam, the latest innovation in BlackVue’s premium dash cam lineup, due for release in August 2025. Engineered with cutting-edge dash cam technology and superior build quality, the Elite 8 offers 2K QHD recording on both front and rear cameras, supported by Sony’s STARVIS 2 sensors. With advanced Dual HDR technology, seamless BlackVue Cloud connectivity, and outstanding low-light performance, the Elite 8 is designed for drivers who demand the highest level of dash cam protection and clarity on the road.

How the Elite 8 Improves on the DR770X-2CH

The BlackVue Elite 8 represents a significant upgrade over its predecessor, the BlackVue DR770X-2CH dash cam. While the DR770X-2CH delivers Full HD performance, the Elite 8 steps up with Dual 2K QHD resolution and enhanced Dual HDR technology for superior clarity and contrast. Furthermore, the introduction of Sony’s latest STARVIS 2 sensors dramatically improves night-time visibility and overall image quality. Additionally, the Elite 8 features faster Wi-Fi speeds, updated USB-C connectivity, and new tamper-proof hardware options for improved dash cam security and convenience.

Revolutionary Dual HDR Clarity

The BlackVue Elite 8 dash cam redefines video quality with integrated HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology. Whether you are driving under direct sunlight or through dark tunnels, HDR ensures perfectly balanced images by reducing both overly bright highlights and deep shadows. Consequently, you get clearer, sharper recordings with crucial details preserved, such as license plates and street signs. This makes it one of the best dash cams for night and day driving.

Superior Imaging with Sony STARVIS 2 Sensors

Equipped with the latest Sony STARVIS 2 sensors, the BlackVue Elite 8 dash cam captures crystal-clear footage day or night. The 5-megapixel sensors record at 2560×1440 resolution and a wide 142-degree field of view, delivering exceptional clarity across every frame. Furthermore, the f/2.0 aperture lens maximises low-light performance, making it ideal for capturing critical moments even in challenging lighting conditions.

Connectivity That Keeps You in Control

Stay connected and protected with the BlackVue Elite 8’s built-in fast Wi-Fi, allowing quick video downloads and instant firmware updates via the BlackVue App. Moreover, the Elite 8 dash cam supports BlackVue Cloud when paired with a Wi-Fi hotspot or an optional BlackVue LTE module. Features like remote live view, GPS tracking, impact notifications, and auto event uploads make it one of the most connected dash cams available.

Reliable Parking Mode Protection

The BlackVue Elite 8 dash cam offers extensive parking mode options, including motion detection and time-lapse recording. Buffered event recording ensures you capture footage leading up to and after any incidents, with a 10-second pre-event buffer. In addition, advanced power-saving features allow for extended parking surveillance without draining your vehicle’s battery—a must-have feature for high-end dash cams.

Effortless Setup with Seamless App Pairing

Setting up the BlackVue Elite 8 is easier than ever. Thanks to seamless app pairing, you can connect and configure your dash cam quickly without manual password inputs, ensuring a hassle-free installation experience.

Iconic Design Enhanced for Modern Needs

The BlackVue Elite 8 maintains BlackVue’s iconic cylindrical design, featuring a built-in speaker, microphone, GPS, touch sensor, and LED indicators. Additionally, a new tamper-proof case option offers extra security, protecting your memory card and power connections. This BlackVue dash cam is built for both style and functionality.

BlackVue Elite 8 Dash Cam Installation Options:

  1. Cigarette Lighter Adapter (included): Easiest method, no technical expertise required. Just plug the cigarette lighter adapter into your vehicle Cigarette lighter socket. Only powers dash cam while car is on, no parking mode features.
  2. Blackvue USB-C Power Cable (included): Many new cars have replaced the cigarette lighter socket with a USB-C connection. This makes for a smaller, sleeker connection. This method is basically the same as the cigarette lighter adapter method.
  3. Blackvue OBD-II Power Cable (optional extra): Simple, DIY, Plug and Play into your vehicle’s OBDii port for constant power to allow for parking mode. Easier than hardwiring. No need for costly professional installation. Not compatible with all vehicles such as Teslas and some EV’s.
  4. Hardwiring kit (optional extra): Most permanent solution, offers parking mode features. Most difficult option, requires familiarity with car electrical systems. Expect to pay between $200-$400 for professional installation.
  5. Battery Pack (optional extra): Simple, DIY, Plug and Play. Good option for those who don’t want to hardwire or have a smaller car battery. The battery charges when the car is on via the cigarette lighter charger and then gives power to the dash cam when the vehicle is off.  Can also be used to charge other devices. External battery can be hidden under passenger seat.

After you have successfully connected the right power cable, the only thing left to do is mount the dash cam to the windscreen and hide the cables through your vehicles trim and seal strips. You can use the supplied cable clips to help.
