Not sure this is the right dash cam for you? The FineVu GX9000-2CH is our pick for the best touchscreen dash cam in the 2026 dash cam buying guide, where we compare it against every other model we stock.
FineVu is the high performance Dash Cam arm of multinational parent company, Finedigital Inc., who are based in South Korea. Finedigital Inc. was established in 1992 and since then, have been manufacturing their own electronic devices, in-house. Since 1992, Finedigital started producing telecommunication equipment and solutions before they expanded their capabilities into automotive electronic systems. Over the years, we have come to appreciate and acknowledge that the South Korean made Dash Cams are some of the best globally.
We always seek Dash Cam manufacturers, like FineVU, who produce their own products in-house as they have 100% control over production, testing and quality. Different to many other Dash Cam brands, FineVu Dash Cams are not made in generic, 3rd party factories and have their logo stamped on generic products. FineVu Dash Cams are developed and produced by FineVu in-house.
FineVu pride themselves on producing ultra reliable Dash Cams and investing heavily in R&D and quality control. FineVu’s trademark is producing cost effective, ultra high quality Dash Cams with intuitive features and ease of use.
The FineVu GX9000-2CH Dash Cam is FineVu’s 2K QUAD HD touchscreen offering to the Australian Dash Cam market.
The FineVu GX9000-2CH puts a 3.5″ IPS touchscreen on the front camera so you can check live front and rear views, play back clips, lock an event and change settings in the car, without pairing a smartphone. Behind the screen is a 5MP Sony STARVIS sensor recording 2K Quad HD with HDR, plus a 1080P Full HD rear camera.
The GX9000-2CH also brings FineVu’s Auto Super Night Vision 2.0, Plate Readability 2.0 and a Power Saving Parking Mode that draws just 0.06W, making it the pick for fleet and work vehicles and for cars that sit parked for days.
It is backed with a Market Leading 3 Year FineVu AU Dash Cam Warranty (standard 12 month warranty on accessories and micro SD cards).
The notable features of the FineVu GX9000-2CH Dash Cam are:
The FineVu GX9000-2CH Dash Cam offers 2K performance you can see on screen plus all the intelligent features to reliably record while driving and parked.
The FineVu GX9000-2CH is the FineVu for drivers who never want to open an app, and for fleet and work vehicles where any driver needs to confirm the camera is recording and show footage on the spot, backed with a 3 year warranty.
The GX9000-2CH is the FineVu with a screen: a 3.5″ IPS touchscreen on the back of the front unit with picture-in-picture, so you can check the front view, the rear view or both, and review a clip on the spot without opening the app. Behind it is a 2K Quad HD front camera on a 5MP Sony STARVIS sensor with HDR and Auto Super Night Vision 2.0, and a Full HD rear camera.
It suits drivers who want to see what the camera sees, particularly for confirming the rear camera is aimed correctly, reviewing a car-park incident before driving off, or handing footage to police at the roadside. The 0.06W power-saving parking mode and low-voltage cut-off make it a strong choice for cars that sit for days at a time, and the included GPS receiver adds speed and location to every file.
If you would rather a discreet, screen-free unit with true 4K front and 2K rear, the FineVu GX1600-2CH is the step up. If you want 4K front for less and can live without the screen, look at the FineVu GX4K 2CH. On a tighter budget, the FineVu GX35 2CH keeps the parking-mode essentials.
The 800 x 480 IPS display shows the live front view, the live rear view, or both together in picture-in-picture. Tap to switch views, play back footage, lock a clip or change settings, with no phone or app needed. It also makes aiming both cameras during installation simple, because you can see exactly what they frame. The screen can be switched off while driving and the camera keeps recording.
The front camera records 2560 x 1440 2K Quad HD at 30fps, almost twice the pixels of Full HD, so number plates and road detail hold up when you need them. Full HD front recording is selectable if you want longer capacity per card. The rear camera records 1920 x 1080 Full HD with a 124° field of view.
A 5MP Sony STARVIS sensor behind the front lens is built for low light. It gathers more light than the generic sensors in cheaper dash cams, so dusk, tunnels and street-lit roads come out cleaner with less noise.
High Dynamic Range balances oncoming headlights and low sun against dark backgrounds, so detail is not blown out in the bright areas or lost in the shadows. HDR and Plate Readability 2.0 are alternative driving modes: you choose the one that suits your driving.
FineVu’s latest night processing records brighter, cleaner footage in low light and reduces the smearing and noise common under street lighting. It switches itself on and off as the light changes, so there is nothing to remember.
A driving-mode setting that improves number plate legibility at the exact moment plates usually blur: when the other vehicle is turning or changing lanes. Plate Readability 2.0 runs instead of HDR, not alongside it.
Two driver-assist alerts that earn their keep in everyday traffic. Lane Departure Warning (LDWS) sounds if you drift out of your lane, and Front Vehicle Motion Alert (FVMA) tells you the car ahead has moved off while you are stopped in traffic. Both need GPS reception, which the included external GPS receiver provides.
Voice alerts for fixed safety camera locations as you approach them, using the included GPS receiver. FineVu releases database updates quarterly.
The screen handles day-to-day use, so the phone connection is there for when you want it. The included Bluetooth + Wi-Fi dongle (2.4GHz and 5GHz) plugs into the front camera and connects the GX9000 to the free FineVu CLOUD & Wi-Fi app on iOS and Android for live view, downloading clips and changing settings.

While parked, the GX9000 records using motion detection, impact detection and Smart Time Lapse, with recordings sorted into their own folders. Smart Time Lapse stretches a single card across hours of parking coverage. Parking mode needs the included hardwire cable installed at the fuse box, the optional OBD-II cable, or a battery pack such as the Cellink NEO 8+S.
Standard motion parking mode draws 4.8W. Power Saving Parking Mode drops that to just 0.06W, sleeping until the G-sensor detects an impact and then waking to record. It is the mode for airport car parks, holidays and vehicles that sit for days at a time.
If the GX9000 detects the cabin temperature is too high while parked, it automatically switches to Power Saving Parking Mode to keep itself cooler, then returns to motion parking mode once the car cools down. Combined with supercapacitors instead of a lithium battery, it is built for Australian summers and rated for operation from -10°C to 60°C.
Shuts the camera down before your car battery drops below a preset voltage, so parking mode never leaves you unable to start the car. FineVu recommends the hybrid setting for cars with idle stop-start (ISG) systems.
Choose how the memory card is divided between driving, event and parking recordings to suit how the vehicle is used. A car that sits in a car park all day can give more space to parking footage; a commuter can favour driving footage.
No manual card formatting, ever. Format Free 2.0 manages the card automatically, which extends card life and removes one of the most common causes of a dash cam that has quietly stopped recording. A 32GB FineVu card is included and the GX9000 supports cards up to 128GB.
Set up to 20 characters of your own text, such as a rego, a fleet ID or a name, to appear on the recorded footage. Handy for fleets and anyone running more than one camera.
The free FineVu Player 2.0 for Windows and Mac plays your footage on a computer and shows the vehicle’s location on a Google Maps overlay as the video runs, using the GPS data recorded with every clip.

Yes. The touchscreen shows front, rear, or both together in picture-in-picture, which makes aiming the rear camera during installation simple and lets you check a clip on the spot without the app.
Yes. Parking mode needs constant power from the included hardwire cable at the fuse box, or from an external battery such as the Cellink NEO8+S. The 0.06W Power Saving mode is one of the lowest-draw parking modes available, and the low-voltage cut-off protects the car battery. On the cigarette-lighter cord it records while driving only.
The GX9000 uses the included external GPS receiver for speed and location data and the included Wi-Fi dongle for the FineVu app. Both plug into the front unit and tuck behind the mirror. If you want everything built into the camera body, the GX1600-2CH does that.
A 32GB card is included and the camera supports up to 128GB. If the car is parked for long periods, a 64GB or 128GB high-endurance card keeps more parking history before the oldest files are overwritten; both are in the upgrade selector above.
No. The screen can be switched off while driving and the camera keeps recording with the display dark. Most owners leave it off on the road and tap it when they need to check the view or review a clip.
